The TPC Handgun Combat Master is an elite defensive shooting course designed to teach gunfight shooting skills at a world class level and then test yourself against world class standards.
It is taught by Ron Avery and his lead instructors.
Here we examine performance in all your skills with a microscope, no stone left unturned as we systematically get rid of wasted time, motion, extraneous thought processes, inefficient visual processing and limiting beliefs.
Think of maximizing every skill you have: draw and target acquisition, multiple shots, multiple targets, position shooting, shooting on the move, shooting at distance, intelligent use of cover, shooting in and around vehicles, strong and support hand shooting, shooting from cover and a whole lot more.
We share with you how to train and grow your skills systematically. We help you to develop your mental skills to function under pressure. We build knowledge and awareness in tactical decision making, tactical principles and applications and street smart skills. We put the shooting skills you will learn in context with what you may face someday on the street.
On Day 5 you will take the TPC Handgun Combat Master Test. This is a rigorous, comprehensive skills test from close range to 50 yards. You will be measured against a world class shooting standard. You will also be tested on non-shooting firearms manipulations such as reloading, malfunction clearances, etc.
Upon successful completion of the requirements for the test and based on your score you can earn one of the following:
Combat Sharpshooter
Combat Expert
Combat Master
Distinguished Combat Master
These levels will be awarded with both a certificate and the appropriate shooting patches. Please note, you cannot buy any patch. They must be earned.
If you perform well in this course, you will be part of an elite group of shooters and have superior shooting skills that are far ahead of any other training institution standards.
You will need:
Defensive handgun suitable for extended shooting, it should be concealable without unreasonable printing through a carry garment. 2500 – 3000 rounds of handgun ammunition, strong side holster, magazine pouches suitable for vigorous activity and concealable without unreasonable printing through a carry garment, a concealed carry holster and garment. Eye and ear protection Notebook and pen. Sunscreen etc.
Note: Competition only style holsters and magazine carriers are not allowed.
Due to the intensive and extremely low ratio of teachers to students, this class is limited to 20 students and will require the use of 10 training days ($2,000).
